Wouldn't it be great is NYRR would do that? It's so visual and nerdy-cool.A little about me...https://www.blogger.com/profile/08179183883308415000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10099063.post-44908493784079150042007-01-17T11:25:00.000-05:002007-01-17T11:25:00.000-05:00This sounds like such fun!

Baltimore has been working on this congestion problem since it's inaugural Baltimore Running Festival in 2001, I believe. Little by little, the problems get solved, although you can't please EVERYONE.
I agree that walk-runners should NOT block entire race routes. I am a Galloway walk-runner, although I rarely run in a "herd", and I tend to "pull over" onto the shoulder or up onto a curb for my walk breaks (as I do for my Photo-Stops). The Stupid Runners, as I call them (the stoppers-dead without warning, the run-walkers who fail to check behind them before switching to SLOW-MODE, the 4&5 abreast walkers who "seed" themselves too too far front in a start corral, the weavers, the folks who toss their water and Gatorade in your face when they're finished with it, the assorted and etc FOOLS with no idea of race etiquette) make me like the BIG events less and less as time goes by. Too many Stupid Runners can wreak havoc on ALL of us, even the mid-to-back-of-packers.*jeanne*https://www.blogger.com/profile/07786378434413037583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10099063.post-16338267053460734112007-01-17T10:53:00.000-05:002007-01-17T10:53:00.000-05:00Sounds like you had a great race, a good day, a gr...Sounds like you had a great race, a good day, a grand trip - I am so glad for you.runliarunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07367107576228601621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10099063.post-66729049658725544462007-01-17T10:06:00.000-05:002007-01-17T10:06:00.000-05:00congrats! I was checking on finish times for a friend mine, also named Brooklyn, and when I did a search on first names noticed there was a runner from NY with the same first name. I guess that was you!

What a hoot - you are so right about the GRB convention center looking like a cruise ship! I don't know about those 9:1 and 5:1 people either - they nearly did me in last year but I was ready for them this time around.

Indy does a phenomenal job with their corrals (Houston has something to learn in that area). They have something like 25 different starting sections all clearly marked for their Indy Mini. Someday they'll get it all figured out....

Oh! Check back on Thursday on the main site for the marathon and you'll get to see the actual videotape of yourself running across the finish line. Then on Friday sometime pictures are supposed to be posted (which both parts are always pretty scary for me).

Glad you got back outta here before the arctic blast hits the Gulf coast tonight!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10099063.post-30037573654076792802007-01-15T22:02:00.000-05:002007-01-15T22:02:00.000-05:00well done!!
